Why a new journal?
'Regular' journals allow limited space for case reports. Whilst case reports overall are an important part of the scholarly communication within Health Sciences each case report individually is only of interest to a smaller group of readers. By publishing an online-only journal free to read with a low publication fee we feel that we have the right publication for the market.

How can I read the journal?
Papers will be made available through our two premier platforms ScienceDirect and HealthConnect. We are planning a free iPad app for later this spring (2011). The journal will be indexed through Scopus, Scirus, Google (and all major search engines). We will apply for coverage on PubMed Central.

What about the publication charge?
We charge a fee of € 500 per accepted article. We have tried to make this fee as low and reasonable as possible whilst at the same time it will allow us to further develop the product.
